OPERATION BBQ RELIEF INTRODUCES BLUE RHINO® AS AN OFFICIAL SPONSOR

KANSAS CITY, MO (Feb. 17, 2016) – Operation BBQ Relief (www.OperationBBQRelief.org), a nonprofit consisting of volunteers from competition barbecue teams who provide hot meals to displaced families and emergency personnel in areas impacted by natural disasters, has announced that Blue Rhino (www.BlueRhino.com) has become an official sponsor.

Under the agreement, Blue Rhino will be supplying Operation BBQ Relief with propane, which is used on every deployment for cooking and heating. Blue Rhino will also provide products such as firepits, grills, grilling tools, and accessories, for use on deployments and in fundraising. Blue Rhino also plans to highlight Operation BBQ Relief on its websites, social media channels, and in other marketing vehicles.

Founded in 2011 in the wake of the devastating tornado in Joplin, Mo., Operation BBQ Relief has since provided nearly 650,000 meals during 27 deployments in 18 states. The organization has 3,500 registered volunteers who travel to hard-hit areas to barbecue and serve food to hungry people. In 2015, co-founder Hays was runner-up on the Food Network show, “Chopped,” in Grill Masters Season 2, and talked about Operation BBQ Relief.
